Have Your Own Airplane Hangar with a Steel Building
By Rodney Morrissey
Buildings made from steel have become an increasingly popular choice by individuals looking for means to store personal items, as well as for companies looking for industrial storage space. Steel buildings are also increasingly used as sites for conducting business, as well as for shelters and indoor spaces for the completion of daily tasks. There are numerous advantages to using steel buildings, whether personally or commercially, adding to their frequency of use by individuals and businesses. As a result, steel building prices have continued to drop in recent years, due to the growing needs for such buildings and the ever growing range of functions they can provide. Besides the cost efficacy of purchasing, renting, or constructing buildings made from steel, steel buildings have the additional advantage of requiring minimal maintenance, particularly in comparison to buildings made from other components, such as wood, plastic, glass, or concrete. Additionally, steel buildings offer the advantage of being impervious to pests that may prey on buildings constructed from more organic materials, such as wood, which draws termites and other insects that seek food from wood or shelter inside cracks and holes in wooden buildings. Buildings made from steel also offer additional protection against elements of weather such as heavy rain, high winds, blizzards, and hurricanes. Many different businesses, therefore, have taken an interest in steel buildings and in steel building prices. One such industry is that of aviation. In fact, steel is considered to be one of the standard building tools for aircraft hangars, as they provide numerous advantages to airlines, businesses, and even private individuals interested in protecting their aircraft. For steel buildings the construction of the concrete slab is of vital importance. As husgrunder.com states it is very important to reinforce the concrete slab properly. Especially if you have a great load on the foundation. A steel building that is well built and used as an airplane hangar will provide numerous benefits in terms of the protection it can offer your airplane. The primary advantage, of course, will be in the protection it offers your airplane from the elements; however, steel airplane hangars are also cost effective means of protecting aircraft, especially in contrast to other hangars such as those made from wood or plastic materials. You can choose from a wide variety of styles, sizes, and formats when looking for an airplane hangar, including variables such as the amount of office space you have (or if you want any at all), the size of the living quarters within the hangar (if you choose to have such quarters), and whether or not to include spaces and tools for repairing the airplanes themselves. With the wide variety of steel airplane hangars available, you can choose from a number of different options and customize your steel building hangar to make it fit your unique needs in price and features. Numerous options should be taken into consideration once you have decided you would like to have your own steel framed airplane hangar. For example, perhaps the primary issue will be over whether you would like to buy a hangar or construct one yourself. If you decide to buy one, you have the option of buying a pre constructed hangar that can essentially be delivered or constructed on site by professionals, or buying a hangar kit that you then construct yourself. Generally, the pre constructed steel building prices will be higher than the prices of kits requiring you to do some of the construction and assembly on your own, but pre constructed hangars can be a good option for people who are not interested in the assembly end nearly as much as they are interested in having a safe location to store and protect their airplanes. Alternatively, if you are more interested in building and customizing the hangar yourself, you may be interested in the kits that you assemble; these will also have the advantage of being cheaper. The cheapest and arguably most difficult, but also most rewarding option is to build the steel airplane hangar entirely by yourself, whether by designing it completely on your own or by looking up plans to build one on the internet or in books. This path requires the most knowledge and willingness to experiment, but if you use a good plan and work carefully, you can build a hangar of your own using steel components for considerably less than you would pay to have one pre built and delivered for you. Regardless of what you choose, you should take the time to ensure that you have a thorough understanding of what your hangar will look like, how much space and materials it will require, and how much protection it will offer your aircraft. Building a hangar can be expensive, and you can save a large amount of money by investing in good planning beforehand. Of course, remember that if you build your hangar with steel components, you will likely be able to afford more features and a larger size than you would with other materials. |

Thank you for sharing this information on steel buildings as airplane hangers, Rodney. I remember in the late 40's, steel buildings called quanset huts were the newest thing in buildings. Who knew, they're still going strong. Best wishes. Frederick
